St Mary’s Churchyard
The Somerset Extensive Urban Survey says the church was dedicated by 1086, with the churchyard forming the medieval burial ground around it.
Heathfield Cemetery
Kelly’s Directory describes the North Petherton cemetery as “formed in 1856”, later enlarged and re-consecrated, situated about a quarter of a mile east of St Mary’s Church with two mortuary chapels.
Medieval Cemetery
A former medieval cemetery extension west of St Mary’s — the Somerset survey identifies a 14th-century cemetery area, possibly a plague cemetery, later redeveloped. This plot of land is now used by North Petherton Community Hall for the building and car park.
North Newton
St Peter’s Church Cemetery
The elder chapel has a documented fabric date of 1292; North Newton was separated from North Petherton as an ecclesiastical parish on 23 March 1880. Monumental inscriptions survive from 1699, and St Peter burial records are indexed from 1761–1901.
St Michael Church Cemetery
Historic England describes St Michael as a Norman establishment, with 15th-century, 18th-century and 1868 work. Indexed burial records for St Michael Church run from 1696–1807,
Northmoor Green
St Peter & St John Churchyard
The chapel of St Peter and St John was consecrated in October 1844; Northmoor Green was constituted/created as a parish/chapelry in 1845; burial records begin in 1844. So the churchyard was effectively opened 1844, probably from the consecration.
